My Favourite Things at Montreal’s Zero Waste Expo

By Öko Team Member Audrey-Anne Guay

Festival Zero Dechet

Earlier this month, I had the great pleasure of attending the first edition of the Zero Waste Festival in Montreal at Marché Bonsecours, where Öko was one of the many proud exhibitors. It was hard to choose, but here are five of my favourite things from the festival!

Muses’ Roots Eco Tree Urn

Festival ZD (6)

I’ve definitely seen a similar product like this on social media before, but i twas awesome to see one in real life … in Quebec!

The Roots Eco Tree Urn is completely biodegradable, and allows family members to plant a tree in honor of their deceased loved one.

I love the concept!

Le Milieu Co-Op Art Studio & Café

Festival ZD (1)

A co-op that welcomes artists wanting to create using second hand materials … supplies are sold on a “pay-what-you-can” basis. There’s also tea, coffee and vegan food on the menu!

What a fabulous idea!

Dental floss from Life Without Plastic

Festival ZD (4)

Bye-bye plastic floss dispensers that wind up in the trash! Here’s a dental floss container that is REFILLABLE will 100% natural floss!

One more step towards zero waste for me!

ONEKA’s Angelica & Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner

Festival ZD (3)

After much research and trials, I finally found the best natural shampoo and conditioner for me: ONEKA’s Angelica & Lavender.

It’s a wonderful product that I’ve been using for two years, I recommend it to everyone!

You can even refill your bottles at certain retailers. Who could ask for more?

The NousRire Company

Festival ZD (2)

What is it? NousRire is a bulk-buying group for organic and eco-friendly products available all over Quebec. Just order what you need online, and choose a pick-up spot near you. Don’t forget to bring your own containers!

It’s as easy as that: check their site to see if there’s a pick-up spot near you!
